ROCHESTER, Wash., Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel will begin construction on a major expansion project February 2nd, Chehalis Tribal officials announced today. Plans call for a 41,000 square foot expansion of gaming, food service and support spaces, 8,600 square feet of administrative space, and a 120,000 square foot parking garage.
“We are very excited to enhance the entertainment experience of our guests,” said Lucky Eagle CEO John Setterstrom. “This project will introduce amenities never before seen in the gaming industry in the Pacific Northwest.”
In addition to expanded gaming areas, the project will include a new sports bar & grill, increased meeting and entertainment space, and a new player’s club and lounge. Another important feature is the way in which the parking garage will sit above the casino expansion, enabling guests to go directly from their cars to the casino floor without a long walk or exposure to the elements.
“The collaboration between the casino management team, general contractor Forma and the architects has been amazing,” said Bob Guyt, Principal of Rice Fergus Miller Architecture. “The result is a design that will create great new spaces for guests, simplify traffic flow on site, and have minimal impact on existing casino operations during construction.”
The project is expected to have a positive economic impact in both the short and long term. Local jobs will be created during construction and once the new areas are fully operational.
“This is great news for the Chehalis Tribe and our surrounding communities,” Chehalis Tribal Chairman Don Secena said. “We can’t wait to get started.”
Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel is owned and operated by the Chehalis Tribe. The casino features more than 1,000 slot machines, blackjack, craps, roulette, keno and bingo. The 171-room Hotel is connected to the casino.
